How Our Cake Pop Mold Sets Work

Farmhouse Craft Works cake pop mold sets are coordinated shaping tools designed to help you create cake pops with consistent thickness and clean, repeatable outlines. The process is simple: roll the prepared cake-pop dough, cut the shape, use the matching press tool to release it from the cutter, place the cutout in the 6 Inch Tray and insert the stick.

Parts of a Cake Pop Mold Set

Shaped Cutter

The shaped cutter creates the outside silhouette of the cake pop. After rolling the dough to your preferred finished thickness, press the cutter completely through the dough to create the cutout.

Matching Press Tool

The press tool fits inside the corresponding cutter. After cutting the dough, use the press to push the shaped cake-pop cutout gently and evenly out of the cutter without distorting the outline.

6 Inch Tray

The 6 Inch Tray holds the shaped cake-pop cutout while you insert the stick. Supporting the cutout in its matching tray helps it retain its shape during this step. The tray is available with applicable product options, so confirm the selected option and the What’s Included section before ordering.

How to Use a Cake Pop Mold Set

  1. Prepare the cake-pop dough. Mix fully cooled cake crumbs with a small amount of frosting or binder until the mixture holds together without becoming greasy or overly soft.
  2. Roll the dough. Roll it evenly to the thickness you want the finished cake pop to be. One-half inch is a common starting point, but the best thickness depends on the desired finished size and your decorating plan.
  3. Cut the cake-pop shape. Press the shaped cutter completely through the rolled dough.
  4. Release it with the press tool. While the cutout is still inside the cutter, use the matching press to push it out gently and evenly.
  5. Place the cutout in the tray. Position the shaped cake pop in the matching opening of the 6 Inch Tray.
  6. Insert the stick. With the tray supporting the cutout, insert the cake-pop stick into the designated bottom edge of the shape.
  7. Chill until firm. Chill the shaped cake pops until they are firm enough to handle. Avoid freezing them solid immediately before dipping because a large temperature difference can contribute to cracked coating.
  8. Dip and decorate. Coat and decorate the chilled cake pops for your chosen theme.

Why Bakers Use Coordinated Mold Sets

  • Creates consistent thickness when the dough is rolled evenly
  • Produces repeatable shapes throughout a batch
  • Uses a matching press to release the cutout cleanly from the cutter
  • Supports the cake pop in the tray while the stick is inserted
  • Reduces the amount of shaping performed entirely by hand
  • Helps organize preparation for parties, dessert tables and bakery orders

Choosing the Right Mold

Choose a design based on the occasion, decorating plan and desired finished size. Basic shapes offer flexibility for year-round projects, while seasonal and themed designs make it easier to coordinate treats for a specific event.

Choose Your Colors

Many Farmhouse Craft Works mold sets can be personalized with your preferred primary and accent colors. Available selections vary by product. Color choices change the appearance of the tools and do not change their size, shape or function.

PLA is commonly used for food-contact tools, but consumer-grade 3D printers and finished 3D-printed products are not independently certified as food-safe. Frequently Asked Questions

Does every listing include the same components?

No. Available options and included components can vary by design. Read the product’s What’s Included section and confirm the selected option before placing your order.

What thickness should I roll the dough?

Roll the dough to the thickness you want the finished cake pop to be. One-half inch is a common starting point, but you can adjust the thickness for your recipe, desired portion and decorating plan.

What does the press tool do?

The matching press pushes the shaped cake-pop cutout out of the cutter. It is not used to compact dough inside a separate mold.

What is the tray used for?

The 6 Inch Tray supports the shaped cutout while you insert the cake-pop stick, helping the cake pop retain its intended outline.

Can beginners use these mold sets?

Yes. Rolling, cutting and releasing the shapes with coordinated tools makes the process easier to repeat. A small practice batch is helpful when using a new shape, recipe or dough thickness.

Can I request a different size or custom design?

In many cases, yes. Use our Contact page to ask about a custom size, modification or original design before ordering.
